"BACK OFF EU" ... motorcyclists protest anti-tampering law (w/video)

Sometime in October (2011) the EU proposed a set of measures to be passed as a law that would mandate all motorcycles over 125cc to come factory equipped with ABS. Another proposed measure and being the tougher pill to swallow is "motorcycle anti-tampering".

The goal of the anti-tampering proposal is to prevent modifications that might compromise safety. Well thats fine and dandy until you realize that this measure if passed will make it practically impossible for riders in the EU to do any sort of performance mods without making your bike non-compliant to the rules. No Power Commander or a fancy carbon fiber Akropovic exhaust, no bore-kits for your engine or any of that. If it increases the manufacturer rated max power and torque then its illegal.

This proposal hasn't gone into the rule books just yet and its being protested by motorcyclists. Organized by the folks at MCN (Motorcycle News UK) riders in the EU protested the anti-tampering proposal in  Brussels a couple of days ago. After the jump watch what the riders have to say and if their protests are influencing EU legislators.
