Video - A Motorcycle Helmet with Rear-View

Motorcyclists run very high odds of injuries and fatalities in road accidents. And naturally so, since the rider is exposed and sits atop the bike as opposed to sitting inside a car/truck/bus (basically inside a shell). Combine this with the fact that a rider frequently needs to take his/her eyes off the road ahead and look at the rear view mirror, to make the right judgement for next manuevre or simply as a precautionary measure. Now, as important as it is to know where you are in relation with other vehicles around you it can also be a potentially dangerous and I'm sure many of us have found ourselves in such a situation of having to hit the brakes as soon as we take our eyes off the rear view mirror back on the road ahead (only to find that the vehicle ahead has come to an abrupt stop or that the lights turned red and so on).

Reevu (rear-view in Brit accent ;), a company in the UK has come up with a revolutionary yet simple solution that  reduces the need for the rider to take his eyes of the road ahead and and look down at the rear view mirror. Well thats because the helmet itself has a small "screen" at the top end of the visor that acts as the rear view mirror. The rider can make a quick glance at this screen/mirror (by a simple eye-ball movement) while still looking-ahead.

I'll let this video do the talking on how this technology works.
