(Update) - Rossi undergoes shoulder surgery

We reported earlier about Rossi's shoulder surgery following last weeks Valencia test. Official MotoGP updates say that the doctors that performed the surgery on "The Doctor" are confident about him being fit and ready in time for the next round of testing at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia early next year (February 1st, 2011 to be precise).

The doctors also said that the injuries turned out to be much worser than expected and the surgery took thrice as long as they had earlier thought. Put this into perspective of the way Rossi rode that M1 on his return after missing a couple of races, battling it out as if nothing had happened and all this after he limped up to his bike on crutches. Similar battles ensued in the following races while Rossi rode in his typical fashion of making it look all fun and easy.
And its not only Rossi. Dani Pedrosa also met similar fate, crashing hard during practice at Motegi leaving him with a broken collarbone. Inspite the pain these riders returned to ride the last few races of the 2010 season giving it the best they had.

What I'm trying to bring out here is the incredible resilience and drive these racers have to compete and try and win. Its this competitive and racing spirit of these riders that makes  MotoGP the amazing sport that it is.
